On april 5 1614 pocahontas and john rolfe married with the blessing of chief powhatan and the governor of virginia. The couple spent months in the highest circles of london society but pocahontas died at gravesend england seven months later on their return to virginia.

His maternal grandfather was chief wahunsenacah the leader of the powhatan tribe in virginia.



Rolfe left his son in the care of a guardian in england and returned to his adopted home. Most spanish colonies in the new world were located in southern climates more favorable to tobacco growth than the english settlements notably jamestown. In 1616 rolfe took his wife and infant son thomas to england.



Pocahontas son had famous descendants after she died john rolfe wanted nothing to do with pocahontas son thomas.
